This is a collection of Californian folklore. It claims to be all genuine, but the first half is historical--documented sightings of ghosts, the story of the Wincester house and so on--while the second half is presented in more of a first-person, urban myth format.
It was interesting, but I didn't care for the second half. It gave no history or context for its tales, and being groundless, they seemed like nothing more than short stories the author made up to fill out the book. The first half, however, was well-rounded and included good details.
All in all, I'd say this is a good book for a newbie on the subject. _________________ Eschew obfuscation. |
