47. The Samurai and the Long nosed Devils: a Zenta and Matsuzo mystery by Lensey Namioka
I found this book in the young readers section. Hee hee hee... again I was attracted by the cover picture. It was fun. Made me feel like I was reading an anime. Of course, it was young adults/readers, so there was no real "mystery", but it was still ok. All, right... I admit. I need an Anime Anonymous
The Long Nosed Devils refers to the Portuguese.
48. The girl who married a lion and other African Folk Tales Alexander McCall Smith
Folk Tales. Wot do you want? Was okay. Reminded me of Indian Folk tales a little. Yeah, they were a bit dark. Read Eisworth's review. Oh, and they didn't seem very original to me. Then again, I guess that's cause they're folk tales (Ok, do I sound totally ignorant?)
49. Kept in the Dark by Nina Bawden
So I've read Carrie's War, and this reminded me of it. Again, there was a bit of the interaction between old folks and young uns, and you got the feeling of looking out at the world through very young eyes. It was a sad story. I'd say more, but then I'd be spoiling it.
50. Visions of Sugar Plums by Janet Evanovich
A Christmas story involving Stephanie Plum and a bit of magic
Since it was Christmas, I really enjoyed the book. It was the usual Stephanie Plum action |
