This is the charming, fast reading tale of Fredrica Hatch; the daughter of two liberal professors; who is born and raised in the dormitory of a small Midwestern college. Her story is one of discovering her identity apart from her activist parents - which is difficult given that they treat her as an equal - even from the young age of five or six. This journey is wound around the scandal which occurs when Dr. Hatch's ex-wife (the dramatic Laura Lee French) arrives at the college to serve as a dorm mother. Laura Lee's actions and reactions cause enough of a rumpus to land the entire academic community on it's ear.
I enjoyed this book - it was light, funny, intelligent and absolutely worth the read. _________________ HER ROYAL KATENESS, QUEEN OF ALL SHE SURVEYS |
