| I don't have much to say about this book; I suspect I missed much of the underlying symbolism. Anyway, it's a rather short novel about a friendship that isn't really a friendship, and the tragedy and betrayal that occur from this "friendship". The time period is World War 2, and the setting is a boy's prep school in (Massachusetts?). |

The fictional school is Devon School in New Hampshire.
