The full title of the book is "12 Impoosible Things Before Breakfast", a reference to Alice in Wonderland.
This is a collection of 12 short stories, aimed at young adults, but good enough for adults.
The themes range from variations of familiar childhood stories to horror. There's a clunker or two in the book (in my opinion), but that almost always seems the case with any short story book I've read.
My favorite story in the book is "Lost Girls", in which Peter Pan collects Wendies, keeps them as personal slave labor, and what happens when he picks the wrong "Wendy". There's more to it than that, of course, but that's the simplest description I can think of.
For me, this book is a keeper. I've been culling the collection, and it was one that stayed. |
