Our main characters here are an annoying suburban family. We don't much like them. They get caught up in something like a more violent "Sliders" episode while they're driving to Las Vegas for a vacation. It all starts when they pick up a mystical hitchhiker chick, who, as it turns out, is trying to save the world. And of course, all the bad guys are after her. So, they travel through alternate realities to escape the bad guys and save the world and stuff. At the end, we like them slightly more.
Alan Dean Foster is a hack, but this book is an entertaining romp. |

| Wow, this is the second time you complimented me on something I said. It's like, the highest praise ever, coming from the likes of you. |
