During my latest trip to the library, I got most of my books from the Young Adult section - it's been way too long since I read anything really fun.
This book certainly qualifies. Like many of her other books, this one has a rather complicated plot and an awesome writing style.
I can sum it up by saying the book is set in a sort of Multiverse, with magic-users who are in charge of taking care of different bits of it, and one part of the book deals with finding a replacement for one of these caretakers, and another part deals with a political conspiracy, and yet a third part deals with the collision of the first two parts at a fantasy/sci-fi convention.
But that only sums it up, and misses a lot of the interesting little details that Diana Wynne Jones likes to put in her books.
I noticed a LOT more of her books when I got this one. I will certainly be reading more of them after my next trip(s) to the library. |
