I liked "The Ancestor's Tale" a lot, so I decided to try some more of Richard Dawkins' writing. The book under review is a collection of shorter writings -- there are a few essays, but also a lot of things like book reviews and obituaries.
Sad to say I didn't like this book very much; the science that I enjoyed in his other book is too much in the background here, while the arrogance that annoyed me has come to the foreground. _________________ Todd Eisworth

| I enjoyed The Blind Watchmaker and The Selfish Gene. What is the best Dawkins book that I haven't read yet, in your opinion? |

Hmmm...I've only read The Ancestor's Tale and A Devil's Chaplain. I really recommend the former -- I was blown away by the science presented there. One big thing that has happened since I last took biology is that there is now a much clearer picture of how vertebrates (or more precisely Chordata) are related to the other major phyla of animals.
It's neat stuff! _________________ Todd Eisworth
