I like novels about dystopian futures. This one certainly fits. It has elements of other dystopian novels (notably Brave New World and 1984), but doesn't go too far overboard copying them.
The strength of the novel lies in the relationship between the protagonist and the 2 characters Oryx and Crake. I also enjoyed the buildup and final explanation for the "Children of Crake" and how, exactly, the world had gotten to its current state.
I'm not going to spoil this at all - it's worth reading to find out how it all started. |
