I picked up this book for a friend because the title reminded me of an inside joke... and hey, you can't beat $2 for a book that's almost brand new. My friend is living in Japan, so I'm trying to send her some things she can't get there, one of which happens to be reading material in English. Go figure.

A young woman is the daughter of a couple that owns a very trendy upper class fashion boutique in San Francisco. She is expected to take over the store someday, even though her interests lie in writing, and she has terrible fashion sense. So terrible that she has never had a date. One of her friends helps her out by giving her a make over, which improves her confidence and helps her get a few dates, and even a boyfriend. All the while, the young woman is writing a blog online about all of the crazy events in her life.

Some good things happen, some bad things happen... some mundane things happen, and some completely unbelievable things happen. In the end, it's happily ever after. I rarely ever read the synopses on the back of books because I always feel that they give away too much of the story, so I didn't read this one either. It turns out that this is what is called "good-girl chick-lit". Yeah, I'd never heard of it either. It means that the main character is a Christian, and she doesn't party and have sex before she gets married. Well, there's nothing wrong with that. And those particular points didn't detract from the story. It did bother me a bit that the authors kept bringing up praying for a great man, and what God wants for the character's lives and such, but it wasn't that bad. In fact, I did enjoy the book, even though it was pretty shallow.
