So here are my missing reviews - sorry about that, next year I promise I will keep better track... !!

12. ALL ABOUT LOVE by Belle Hooks - A
This book was given to me several years ago by one of my friends who thought that Ms. Hooks would be a writer whom I would identify with. She was correct, the book is poetic and insightful, written from the perspective of someone that in spite of great odds has spent her life finding and observing love.
13. GURU: MY DAYS WITH DEL CLOSE by Jeff Griggs - A+
This is a must read for anyone at all interested in long form improvisation and it's founder the enigmatic and mysterious, Del Close. A series of ancedotes about Jeff Griggs and Del Close's adventures in the days before his death in 1999 - this book is HYSTERICAL and insightful and profound... rec: Smoke a doobie before you read it, you'll appreciate it all the more.
14. THE RIGHT WORDS AT THE RIGHT TIME by Marlo Thomas and Friends - A+
Great words of wisdom from a multitude of influential people in the world.
15. SON OF A WITCH by Gregory MacGuire - C
Nothing is as good as WICKED, though MacGuire tries he just cannot capture the magic he found with that first book... in all honesty I wish he would stop trying to recreate it and turn to writing in some other medium.
16. HOW TO BREATH UNDERWATER by Julie Orringer - A
A nice collection of short stories, some biographical, some about characters which you're amazed live inside Orringer's head.
17. IT'S NOT EASY BEING GREEN by Jim Henson - A+
Muppet wisdom from the creator of some of the world's most loved characters.
18. FRIED GREEN TOMATOES AT THE WHISTLE STOP CAFE by Fannie Flagg - A++
This book is so much deeper than the movie (which I love) - it is wonderful to immerse yourself in the world of Ruth and Iggy... I love it as much now as when I first read it in 1991.
19. THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA by Lauren Weisberger - D
Stupid, stupid book - I hardly was able to force myself to finish it.

***
22. SHE'S SUCH A GEEK: WOMEN WRITE ABOUT SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND OTHER NERDY STUFF ed by Newiz & Anders - A++
Great collection of essays by women geeks about being a geek in a mostly male dominated geek world.
23. A MOSAIC OF 99 HAKIUS & 1 TANKA by Phillip Hacket - A
The poetry is delicate and profound... Phillip Hacket is the poet lauriate of San Francisco, I enjoyed reading it.
24. HOME by Thomas Drake (ie: Thomas Ambelang) - unpublished, A++++
This book is going to be big. It is by my ex-boyfriend who I will predict becomes the next Jack Kerouac... this 500 page book is a dark exploration into the mind of a complex man on his journey across America in search of love... it is especially interesting to me because I am a character in this book & it's losely focused around the time and circumstances which lead up to Thomas and I meeting and falling in love in 2001-2003. Yay, Tom - this is a great acheivement... people should look for it in 2008.
25. FIRST BREAK ALL THE RULES ed by Buckingham + Clifton - A
A book about how to be a powerhouse in the business world - a forced read by my boss (who is very smart) but helpful none the less.
26. NOW DISCOVER YOUR STRENGTHS ed by Buckingham + Clifton - A
See above

LOL!! I guess while I can read a lot, I have issues with counting... 26 & 27 were just under the wire, finished them up yesterday right before you emailed me.

Smile
