And this concludes my personal collection of the books based on Star Trek: the Animated Advetures (I think that's correct.) There are a few more out there, but I'll have to wait until I find them at Goodwill, or crumble and buy them on eBay.
This was much the same as the others I've reviewed. But for the sake of completeness, I'll touch on the three stories contained in this volume.
The Terratin Incident: Due to some anomalous radiation coming from a strange planet, the crew of the Enterprise begins to shrink. This was drawn out, and off-putting. Not much of anything, really.
Time Trap: A cool story that I can see echoes of in Star Trek: The Next Generation and even Star Trek: Enterprise. The crew and some Klingons are trapped in sort of an alternate universe. Kind of flat storytelling. A lot of potential, but not really engaging.
More Tribbles, More Troubles: At first, I uttered a big sigh about this one. I never really cared for the Tribbles episode of the original series. But this one surprised me. There was some quality writing in here, and I was entertained well beyond my expectations. And once again, the book ended with a doozy of a pun. Which glosses over the bad elements and buffs up the good. _________________ I am a dirty liar. And I'm lying when I say that. |
