I was going through my box of duplicate Ellery Queen books and found a pleasant surprise. Somehow my only copy of this book wound up filed away in there.
This is a traditional Golden Age mystery concerning a murder at a rodeo. As with most of these early books, the best part is the look into the daily lives of depression-era New Yorkers. There's a CHALLENGE TO THE READER, following by the usual gripping explanation. However, I found the solution more than a little far fetched.
