Five friends hike out in the redwood forests. There is a shot, and then there are four. It's a good setup, but the rest of the story doesn't deliver. The detective, Collins, is annoying. All he does is ask questions. Two times during the story, he makes long lists of questions. And the solution is absurd.
I only have one more Ellery Queen book in my pile to read! I am missing 28 titles and it's going to be tough from here on out to get them.
