This is another one of the hard-boiled crime novels of the 1960s. It doesn't feature the Ellery Queen character. These later "faux EQ" novels are widely disparaged by "serious" Ellery Queen fans, but I find them likeable in a cheesy, cheap sort of way.
A man's daughter runs off with a young man who may or may not have committed two murders. It's a race against time to see if he'll reach her before the young man does something.
