This is one of the very best Golden Age EQ mysteries. It gets right to the point and never lets up until the end. The authors threw the kitchen sink into this one. A man is found murdered and crucified in a small West Virginia town. Before we know it, we're introduced to a sun worshipping cult, a nudist camp, international intrigue, and a weird seafarer.
I keep a personal spreadsheet listing all these Ellery Queen mysteries. At the end is a "spoiler" column where I reveal the identity of the killer. The entry for this book is by far the longest of any of the books. |
