real title: Wizard and Glass
Three quarters of the book deal with an episode in the past of our protagonist, Roland--at age 14. However, since he was already a gunslinger (not really a spoiler), it has a lot to do with adventure and gunslinging and such.
I am still really enjoying these books, but I find I need a break. The first was a very quick read because it was shorter and used more basic language; the second and third went quickly because they were "adventure" books. This went pretty slowly because it's much more of a romance than King usually writes, and as he admitted in the introduction, it's not the easiest subject matter for him.
Still, worthwhile. Good stuff. _________________ Eschew obfuscation. |
