I've been meaning to read something by this author for a while. I asked for this one for Christmas, and it was received! (And well received, I might add.)
This is more of an emotional journey than anything. There isn't much of a plot, but there are some very interesting characters. There's also just enough Japanese culture in the story to add some spice. I won't say a lot about it, since there isn't much in the storyline. The main character seems to undergo some emotional change, but the author lets you see that from her actions and reactions.
**Note on the author's name... I wrote it as Murakami Haruki because that is how it would be written in Japanese. Murakami is the family name, and Haruki is his individual name. However, it is by Haruki Murakami on my (english) edition. |
