36/37. The Last Man Club/ The Murdered Millionaire by Ellery Queen

These two very short novels from 1940 and 1942 are usually found grouped together in the same book. I feel a little guilty counting them as two “books” (the two of them together only total 127 pages) but all of the fan sites treat them as two separate works, and I need to keep them separate for accounting purposes.

They’re decent little mysteries, and “The Last Man Club” even has the traditional CHALLENGE TO THE READER. While Ellery’s logic is impeccable, I’ll note that the solutions focus on certain anachronisms and you aren’t likely to figure them out as a result.
