Smashed: the story of a drunken girlhood by Koren Zailckas is probably the best book I've read in 2007 (so far, I'm kinda far behind due to school reading.) It is the true story of a girl and her binge drinking. It is haunting, funny, depressing and resonates all too true to me. I identify with this book a little too closely as it reminds me of myself and my friends all through college.
