This is the second in a trilogy--I read the first a few months ago. It's been written up by other folks in the forum, whose reviews tempted me. It's sort of a medieval knights-and-kings story crossed with a magical fantasy, with emphasis on the former. It's heavy into the action and there's a lot of violence.

The funny thing is...this book is big and heavy (the library only has the hardbound), and it's very desirable to the library-goers. So I waited a long time to get it, but once I had it it was so formidably heavy, I put off reading it. Then I knew I had to hurry up so I started reading, and I was completely drawn in. Couldn't hardly do anything around the house but read. Soon the due date arrived, but I couldn't renew it because it was requested by other readers! So I've been reading like mad, and it's a week overdue.

I may edit this review into something longer later, but for now let me just say that if you like the genre, you'll probably like the book. Very enjoyable. Plus...a paperback copy is available at Barnes & Noble for only a couple bucks! I recommend it.

I'm going to be rereading them, because I don't want to pick up the new one having forgotten who everyone is! But right now I'm in "The Dance to the Music of Time" series, and that may very well take me 6 months.

I loved A Clash of Kings. Tyron is one of the coolest characters in any book evaaaahr.
