I have no idea if I'm even in the 'ballpark' here....I read the top 25 for '05, and it seemed to have books from earlier than that year....either way....Devinci Code....good book....a creation of fiction that hits home on the usage of symbolism, the understanding (personal view of), and religion....I couldn't put the book down....devoured it in two nights....magnificent read, and makes you wonder....like a thing that makes you go...."hmmmm"...

I enjoyed Da Vinci code as well, although I thought it was the worst written dialogue of any book I've liked.

The 25 in 05 board is for people who pledged to read 25 books in 2005, and review them all. It was a pledge thingie that I started last January, and seems to be working well.

This board is people talking about the top 100 novels of all time, as chosen by the Modern Library and that I'm reviewing on my website proper.

Hrmmm, dunno about the 'Modern Library' but I've got some suggestions....

"the Long Walk"...short story by Stephen King, written as Bachman....

The entire "Foundation" series by Asimov.....actually anything by Asimov....his guide to the bible is long, but better than the original...

I'll have to agree with you....Doug, the written word as read in the book sucks ass.....the symbolism is profound, though....I'm still trying to get through "Digital Fortress"......I've had it for more than 6 months...
